Brinkley Heights Urban Academy


  • Student enrollment has grown from 13 students to 90 students and five grades have been added taking BHUA through the seventh grade.

  • BHUA has been featured in a front page article of Memphis’ primary daily newspaper, The Commercial Appeal.  The article was titled “Fighting for Children”.

  • BHUA has been featured on Memphis’ NBC affiliate WMC TV news broadcast segment, “Taking Back the Streets”.


  • BHUA is a member of the StreetSchool Network, a national network of schools that provide personalized education, a moral code and tools for self-sufficiency. BHUA is also a member of the Tennessee Association of Christian Schools and the American Association of Christian Schools.

  • BHUA achieved accreditation from The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) and The Commission on International and Trans-Regional Accreditation (CITA) in May of 2007.
